Buttweld and forged steel pipe fittings
/ Overview — types of pipe fittings

Every fitting to complete your line

Pipe fittings connect, change direction, branch, reduce and terminate a piping system. AAM Steel carries the full range in three families: buttweld (BW) fittings welded to matching pipe schedules; forged socket-weld & threaded fittings for small-bore and utility lines; and branch outlet (olet) fittings for take-offs from a run pipe. All in carbon, stainless and alloy grades, matched to your pipe standard and wall thickness.

/ FAQ

Pipe fittings — common questions

What are the main types of pipe fittings?
Elbows (45°, 90°, 180°), tees (equal & reducing), reducers (concentric & eccentric), caps, crosses, stub ends and bends for buttweld; couplings, unions, plugs, bushings and nipples for forged SW & threaded; and branch outlets (weldolet, sockolet, threadolet) for olets.
What standards cover pipe fittings?
Buttweld follows ASME B16.9 (dimensions) & B16.28 (short radius); forged SW & threaded follow ASME B16.11; olets follow MSS SP-97. Materials: ASTM A234 (carbon), A403 (stainless), A182 (alloy).
What is the difference between socket weld and threaded fittings?
Socket-weld fittings are welded to the pipe for a permanent, leak-tight joint (Class 3000/6000/9000). Threaded fittings screw onto threaded pipe for a joint that can be dismantled (Class 2000/3000/6000) — common for small-bore and utility lines.
Where can I buy pipe fittings in the GCC?
AAM Steel supplies pipe fittings available across Qatar, the UAE and Saudi Arabia in carbon, stainless and alloy grades, all types and sizes, with material test certificates. Send your list for an itemised quote.
