Crevice-free tube for hygienic process

Hygienic process lines demand smooth, cleanable, crevice-free tube. AAM Steel supplies sanitary OD tube in 304/304L and 316/316L to DIN 11850, SMS 3008, BS 4825, ISO 1127/2037 and ASME BPE, with matching tri-clamp, DIN 11851 and aseptic DIN 11864 fittings.

Surface finish is specified by Ra: mechanically polished (SF1–SF3) or electropolished (EP) SF4–SF6 for pharmaceutical, WFI and high-purity service — orbital-weld-ready, passivated (ASTM A967/A380), with Ra readings, ferrite and sulphur reports.

What is the difference between polished and electropolished (EP) tube?

Mechanically polished tube is ground to a grit finish (SF1–SF3); electropolished (EP) tube is then electrochemically smoothed (SF4–SF6) to a lower Ra with an enriched chromium-oxide passive layer — required for pharma and high-purity WFI service.

What standards cover sanitary tube?

DIN 11850, SMS 3008, BS 4825, ISO 1127/2037, ASME BPE and 3-A. Fittings follow DIN 11851 (union), DIN 11864 (aseptic) and tri-clamp (BS 4825/ASME BPE).

Is the tube orbital-weld-ready?
